Jeff Herman is a 30-year veteran of the Financial Services industry, having held positions ranging from Retail Advisor to Executive Officer. Jeff got his start in the industry as an Independent Advisor right out of college, partnering with his father, a CPA in Hickory, NC. He then spent ten years as a representative for Dreyfus Investments and AXA Equitable, working with the largest financial institutions in the United States.
During his time with AXA, he was asked to relocate to Japan to build a distribution channel for their top-selling Variable Annuity. His group of 100 staff, with strategic relationships nationwide, grew the sales to $1.2 billion. Jeff returned to the Advisory world in 2013 by taking an ownership stake in Wealth Management Advisors, LLC, an SEC-registered RIA, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.
In the Greenville, SC, region, Jeff is passionate about giving back to the community that supports The Jeffrey Group. His volunteering and board experience includes working with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, the Humane Society, and UCAN.
Additionally, Jeff has taught financial education classes to middle schools in the area through Junior Achievement. He has supported the local community through the Red Cross Chapter, the American Heart Association, Cancer Survivors Park, and other local non-profits.
When Jeff steps away from market research and client meetings, he’s usually planning his next round of golf, dinner reservation, concert, or trip. For Jeff, time outside the office is about enjoying new experiences and sharing them with his wife, Cricket, their friends—and, whenever possible, their dog Ozzie, a German short-haired pointer with tons of energy.
Jeff is an avid golfer who enjoys the challenge of the game almost as much as the fellowship that comes with it. Whether he’s returning to a local course in Greenville or playing somewhere new abroad, he’s always ready for another round.
Jeff and Cricket love exploring Greenville’s constantly evolving dining scene with friends. From discovering a new restaurant to returning to a longtime favorite, Jeff believes a great meal is best measured by the people gathered around the table.
For Jeff, a great concert is worth traveling for. He and Cricket enjoy turning live performances into destination experiences by combining the music with an opportunity to explore a different city, find a memorable restaurant, and make a weekend of it.
